27024

27024 at outside the diesel shed at Bridge of Dun.

Shortly after departure of the class 20, 20056, to work on Channel Tunnel trains, members of the newly-formed  CRDG acquired the heavily robbed 27024 from the Northhampton and Lamport Railway. This loco arrived on 1/5/92, work starting upon repair almost immediately. In 1994, almost 2 years to the day after arrival 27024 was fired up. some minor rectification work was required and the loco returned five years of very reliable service before giving some fuel and electrical troubles in late 1999. These problems are thankfully now solved, and the loco has settled down once more.
