A picture taken very shortly after the arrival of 25083. Some of our welding repairs (of which there were many!) can be seen in the grey primer.

Official success of purchase of 25083, for the figure of £1600 (there is not a '0' missing here)  being notified on 1/4/97. It took several years of considerable effort to get this loco released owing to problems removing its location (no road access to the site, movement over West Coast Main Line being necessary), but the wait paid off and the loco arrived in November 2000. Work progresses on this loco and is well reported on the site, on our 'News' page.
